Give Me a Break: The Definitive Chrono Break FAQ
REVISION 1.0 9 April, 2002
PLEASE READ BEFORE USING THIS GUIDE:
Before you use this guide, I have two simple requests:
1. Don't ask me for further information about this game. This is all there is.
2. Don't ask for permission to use this guide on your site. You can't use it unless I send it to you. I'm sick of receiving email from users saying "you need to add the Dead Sea section to your Chrono Cross guide!" despite my having done so in November of 1999. In my experience, sites which exist by trolling GameFAQs for content never update the guides they acquire, and I refuse to deal with the results of their apathy.
And it probably goes without saying, but you'd be surprised at how dishonest (or stupid) some people can be: please do not steal the content of this guide, or use it without permission.
Thanks for your courtesy.

PART I: CHRONO BREAK FAQs
1. WHEN DOES CHRONO BREAK COME OUT?
Dunno.
2. WHAT'S THE GAME ABOUT?
Uncertain.
3. WHAT'S THE MAIN CHARACTER'S NAME?
Sorry, no idea.
4. OK... WELL, THEN WHICH SYSTEM WILL IT BE ON?
PlayStation 2, I guess, but I can't say for sure.
5. DO YOU AT LEAST KNOW WHO'S DIRECTING IT?
Square hasn't said, but since Tetsuya Takahashi has moved along to Monolith to work on Xenosaga, it's probably not him.
6. SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
Aside from diminishing the chances of Chrono Break degenerating into text-heavy, self-indulgent bilge at the 11th hour - somewhat, as Masato Kato could still be put in charge - not much, really.
7. SO IS THERE ANY REAL INFORMATION ABOUT CHRONO BREAK AT ALL?
Well, Square registered the trademark "Chrono Break" a few months ago. And in Japan they may be spelling it "Chrono Brake." But beyond that, there's absolutely no concrete information regarding the game whatsoever. None. Zero. Nada. Zilch. In fact, aside from speculative guesswork there's no concrete proof that the next Chrono game will in fact be called "Chrono Break." Forall we know "Chrono Break" was registered as a trademark for gummy fruit snacks or something.
8. SO, I SHOULD JUST, LIKE, BE PATIENT AND WAIT FOR FURTHER INFORMATION?
Yes.
9. THIS GUIDE WAS A WASTE OF TIME, WASN'T IT?
Yes.
10. OH WELL. UM... HEY. I LIKE YOUR SHIRT.
Thanks!

- The GIA for posting all the known info about this game. Which of course isn't much.
- Google for continuing to refer people to my site for Chrono Break searches despite my not having mentioned the game since the news of the trademark first broke.
- tammish@mail.utexas.edu for noting a HORRIBLE DEADLY TYPO.

It may not be distributed for profit, although you're welcome to distribute it freely so long as the entire FAQ remains intact and I receive my due props. Please do not modify or edit this FAQ in any way, even if you think the lame asides are really annoying. Tiresome as they may be, it makes plagiarism a bit easier to spot (it happens, sad to say).
