GameSpite Quarterly 8 | GunCon |

Dev./Manufacturer: Namco | Type: Light Gun | Release date: 1995
Namco set the industry standard for home light gun devices with its GunCon. The secret? Rather than relying strictly on the simple photoreceptor employed in devices such as Nintendo’s Zapper or Sega’s Menacer, the GunCon paired that receptor with a patch cable that fed directly into the console’s video feed. This made for unparalleled accuracy in games like Point Blank and Time Crisis. Sadly, the move to LCD TVs has made the GunCon completely obsolete... but in its era, it was the king of light guns.
