Hey kids! It's a glorious round-up of Virtual Console selections. It's like a counterpart to 1UP's Retro Roundup, except that it loads faster.
The Virtual Console is a feature of the Nintendo Wii, which debuted alongside the system on its launch day: November 19, 2006. The Virtual Console requires an internet connection and may incur extra costs per your internet provider.
By emulating older video game consoles, the Virtual Console (often abbreviated VC) allows Wii gamers to purchase and play select NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis? (aka Mega Drive), TurboGrafx-16? and NeoGeo? games. Gamers purchase these title with "Wii Points," a non-transferable currency equivalent to the region's currency. 100 Wii points cost one American dollar, 100 Japanese yen or one Euro. NES games cost begin at 500 points, TurboGrafx-16 at 600, SNES and Genesis games at 800, NeoGeo at 900 and Nintendo 64 at 1,000. Points may be purchased directly from Nintendo via credit card or by buying a "Wii Points" card at retail.
Virtual Console games are downloaded onto the system's 512 MB flash memory; they may transferred onto an SD card, but can only be played from the internal memory of the system upon which they were originally downloaded
