A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, some corporate suits decided that emulating Japan's asinine anime DVD pricing policy was a good thing, and thus every Tuesday we now get the animated gems and turds of Japan's anime industry! This, of course, is ignoring the fact that there's a lot more turds than diamonds in the pile.

That's where the Anime DVD Release blog comes in. Every week there'll be a sample selection of titles, along with a text blurb on a number of titles to give you a better idea of what you're in for. Given the serial nature of anime DVD releases though, text coverage will be limited to previously unwritten titles to broaden exposure and keep things fresh.

November 13, 2007 | Forum: November Entry Numero Dos brings us FMA as the weekly pick, and will hopefully be the last time I ever talk about it again, besides in collection form. Gigantic release week, with a vast array of material for everyone.

November 6, 2007 | Forum: Okay, the first week of November brings us the last volume of Haruhi as the weekly pick, and a number of solid and crappy titles, and a number of series collections.

October 30, 2007 | Forum: The last week of October '07 brings us Pheonix. Go watch it. Now. Besides that, the entire series of Fighting Spirit is available for two or three weeks until Geneon closes up its distribution arm.

October 23, 2007 | Forum: One week left in October brings my Hallows Eve Horror Rec, Hell Girl, and a small host of action and romance titles for the eighth seventh column entry.

October 16, 2007 | Forum: Numero Seis brings us Suzuka, a show about sports, romance, and being a horny idiot as the weekly pick, and this week's theme seems to be Love & War.

October 9, 2007 | Forum: Column #5 is the week of sci-fi/fantasy and the fine art of blowing crap out of things. Weekly pick is Yu Yu Hakusho: Seven Sins, and even for a small week there's a pile o' turds.

October 2, 2007 | Forum: The fourth entry brings us Zegapain and School Rumble as the weekly picks, and some other more thoughtful material. No, Rescue Me: Mave-chan doesn't count.

September 25, 2007 | Forum: The third time's not the charm as Sturgeon shows up with a bucketload of crap, and a few diamonds in the rough. Weekly picks are: Haruhi, The Third, and Ergo Proxy.

September 18, 2007 | Forum: This week's slower than last week, and Noein is the Pick of the Week. Mindfucks, ho!

September 11, 2007 | Forum: The inaugural week's a slow one, with only a handful of titles, and the Picks of the Week spanning a scant three titles. Shounen Omyouji, Guyver, and Mushi-shi are the only unreservedly recommended titles as the Picks.
