The Princess Bride
Here's a fun experiment: save this image file of the cover art for The Princess Bride and load it into your image editor of choice. Then, rotate it 180 degrees. I'll wait while you do that. Is your mind blown? Oh, yeah, I hear there's a pretty cool movie included along with the cover insert.

Shrek 3
Remember all the great things I said last week about Ratatouille? Perhaps you saw the reviews our editor wrote of that movie? Well, take all the nice things we both said about that movie and try to imagine a movie that's the exact opposite. They already made it! Rent it if you think pop culture references are the same thing as humor.

This coincides with a big game released this week! How serendipitous. However, not even my seemingly unquenchable appetite for nostalgia extends this far.

The Last Sentinel
Talk about pandering to my audience. Hey, it's Katee Sackhoff! With a gun! I'm sure it's just as good as that other thing she does. Not that it'll matter. You see Katee Sackhoff in a half-shirt and you've already got your wallet out before your brain has time to process the image. If I were really smart, I'd put a sponsored link here and retire based on the poor impulse control of nerds everywhere.

Ocean's 13
Word on the street is that isn't nearly as self-indulgent and bloated as the last film in this franchise. On the other hand, that's not saying much. I will watch this movie because the people in it are very charming and watchable. I guess that's why they got the job of being movie superstars and I got the job of previewing movies for an audience that spends their free time playing RPGs with no level cap and has no time for movie viewing. Le Sigh.

Pilates for Indie Rockers
You know, I really want to exercise, but there isn't an exercise video that targets my specific niche. A few weeks ago, we got Belly Dancing for Goths, and now we get Pilates optimized for the Pitchfork crowd. But when, I ask you, will there be an exercise video for folk-punk-death-rock-rap-hip-hop-emo-grindcore enthusiasts? I really hope Wii Fit allows custom soundtracks.

High-Def Alert: The World of Blu-Ray and HD DVD

Blu-ray gets another major coup this week, as the first Spielberg movie to be released on an HD format is coming out as a Blu-ray exclusive. What's even more interesting is that Universal was reportedly trying to get Spielberg's approval to release three of his most popular titles on HD-DVD, but couldn't obtain it and had to cancel the projects.

Did I mention earlier how little regard I have for the Shrek movies? I did? Well... you can check out Keira Knightley in high definition AND enjoy a Jane Austen classic! That's got to count for something.

Pain Doesn't Lie: Horror on DVD

Is it cannibal week or something? I can't watch those movies at all. I don't know why I think zombie movies are incredibly awesome but I draw the line at cannibals. Just collecting the images this week made me a bit queasy.
