Indiana Jones: The Adventure Collection So, basically this is a cash-in to take advantage of the increased exposure the Indiana Jones franchise is getting because of the upcoming fourth movie. There are some cool new extras, including new 10+ minute introductions for each film recorded by Spielberg and Lucas (although one wishes for commentaries instead... but for that, you'll have to wait for the inevitable next box set). I love Indiana Jones, but I've already bought these films once on DVD and I'm not buying them again until they come out on Blu-ray. Still, it's a slow release week, and if you don't have (or haven't recently seen) the Indiana Jones trilogy, you could do far worse.

The Great Debaters It's the typical sports-movie convention -- underdog team takes on priveleged champions -- but stands apart by both being based on a true story and by the team being a debate team. I haven't seen it, but it enjoyed the most positive reviews of any of the new-to-video theatrical releases this week.

Mad Money This high-concept film explores what happens when a woman who is very conservative and spendthrifty finds out she only has a short time left to live. Will she loosen up and finally start spending her savings? Will her newfound sense of freedom help her to finally start expressing herself? Will she finally go on the date she's been too repressed to accept? You'll have to watch to find out! Or do what I did: Ignore it and hope it goes away.
Actually, turns out that's the plot summary to an entirely different, terrible Queen Latifah movie. It all runs together in our feeble minds here at A2Q labs. Either way, your best bet is to practice the ancient art of avoision. That's avoiding and evading all at the same time. It's a very high level technique, one I only suggest for advanced readers.

Untraceable Diane Lane tries to make the Internet stop killing people. Me, I just wish the Internet would stop putting me into contact with disagreeable people. Except you guys, my faithful readers: I love you guys.

Blu Reyes
I am totally excited for the Blu-ray release of Master and Commander. The DVD already looks and sounds spectacular, I'm salivating over the leap to high definition. The kind of film that HD was meant for, it's an instant purchase for me. Butch Cassidy and Chronicles of Narnia are also very welcome additions to the Blu-ray library, but I could do without Mrs. Doubtfire.
