Ben "Kirin" Elgin

Back in the early 90's, Kirin's handle was Bahamut (or the hideously grating but then still novel "B /\ H /\ M U T") on several BBS systems. Then he got on the wider internet and discovered using the name of the single most popular summoned creature in a ubiquitous game series wasn't the best idea. So he switched to a lesser FF6 summon and immediately got mistaken for the bad guy in a Ranma 1/2 movie. (This was the mid-90s... Ranma was the only anime we had.) These days, he mostly gets mistaken for beer.

Outside of the net, during working hours, he mostly writes code for a 3D laser scanner, and occasionally installs wide-area 6DOF tracking systems.

Gaming, reading comic books, occasionally reading real books, spending too much money on useless toys, spending too much time reading random crap on the internet
