Dreamcast was Sega?'s furtive last effort to remain afloat in the console market as something more dignified than a purveyor of second-rate multi-platform software. Sadly, despite a strong U.S. launch it was a colossal failure due to the company's prior history of consumer-screwing ineptitude and Sony?'s lack of shame in overhyping its upcoming PlayStation 2. Ken Kutaragi? probably gets a little bit annoyed when people make fun of his overblown promises (like "soon you'll be jacking into The Matrix"). But then he plays Shadow the Hedgehog and oh how he laughs.
