To call Astro Boy Omega Factor a faithful licensed game would be a gross understatement; the game is a love letter to Osamu Tezuka. The game's varied cast is drawn from his numerous manga and anime titles and marked the first North American appearance for many characters. It's also a tribute to what Tezuka called his Star System, in which he would cast his stories with "actors" that would star in many roles. He modeled this approach after film directors who use the same actors in different movies, such as Tim Burton and Johnny Depp.
The game's option menu contains an "Ultimate Character List" packed with trivia and notes. Since only a small fraction of his work has crossed the Pacific to date, this is a rare English (or French or Italian or German or Spanish)-language resource. Below are a few select entries presented as a testament to the affection of the game's staff and the extra effort extended in its localization.
